Our local Community Development Trust, UpNorth! CDT, formed in  2008.

The Trust set up the Community Leaders Forum (CLF) where local voluntary groups meet quarterly with local landowners and businesses to share ideas and foster collaborative working. HIE (Highlands and Islands Enterprise) and the Scottish Land Commission are also represented at these meetings. Through the work of the CLF, UpNorth! CDT appointed a Masterplan Implementation Manager in 2025. This is a two-year project to take forward the priorities identified in the HIE Masterplan for the area - housing, childcare, transport and our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA).

A booklet, Walks Around the Kyle of Tongue, was commissioned by the Trust and is available to purchase in local shops. Proceeds from the sale of the booklet are regularly distributed to local good environmental causes.
